I always report on Publix's deals because I love Publix and this is where I do most (if not all) of my grocery shopping.
When I first started this couponing thing, I had no idea that Publix accepted competitor coupons. I checked with my store's General Manager and sure enough... my Publix accepts Target and Winn Dixie coupons! This absolutely made my day because I was fairly bummed that Publix was offering pasta sauce (I think it was Bertolli) at BOGO but Target had an on-line coupon for $1.50 off of that same sauce. Well I believe my new found respect for couponing came when I did this:
I printed out 2 $1.50 off said pasta sauce
I went to Publix, bought 1 sauce got the other free
Went to check out and used my two TARGET coupons because I also learned that even when something is free you CAN use a coupon!
and paid $.69 for two jars of sauce plus tax!
I WAS HOOKED!
I needed to know more so I also happened upon a beginners guide to couponing on-line where I learned that you can use:
1 Store Coupon (meaning whatever store you are in)
PLUS
1 manufactures coupon
PLUS
1 approved competitor coupon
PER ITEM. I still haven't found a scenario where I've been able to do this but I have used a Target coupon and a manufactures coupon on the same item in Publix.
The moral of the story is... check with your local store to find out what the deem a competitor and make sure you snag those coupons!
Thanks for reading!
